Composting Tips for Small Backyards
Low-odor composting strategies for limited space and limited time.

Composting is one of the cheapest ways to build better soil.
In a small backyard, the key is balancing greens, browns, moisture, and air so the pile does not smell and does not stall.
Turn the pile regularly and keep it about as damp as a wrung-out sponge.
Once the pile becomes dark, crumbly, and earthy, it is ready to use in beds or containers.
